Black Hills Hiking Trail Map

The trail has over 100 railroad bridges and 4 tunnels and certain sections of the trail are gorgeous. Mystic (central hills) hell canyon (southern hills) black elk wilderness & norbeck wildlife preserve trail system. The forest has an area of over 1.25 million acres (5,066 km²) and is managed by the forest service.

The trail is mostly narrow walking track, with some fire track at the top. The skyline drive wilderness area is located in the heart of rapid city and encompasses 150 acres of undeveloped forest and meadows around skyline drive and dinosaur park. In each year subsequent bht volunteers have put countless hours into maintaining 100+ miles of existing forest service system trails to keep them open for all users.
